Launched in 2015, the MD Club is led by the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.

The MD Club provides a forum for regional business leaders and expert academics to exchange knowledge and ideas for future partnerships.

The MD Club provides a space for members to benefit from idea sharing, knowledge exchange and networking opportunities.

The MD Club provides a variety of benefits for members which includes:

  • The opportunity to hear from inspiring and informative speakers on key topics and regional opportunities
  • Business and academic collaboration through networking opportunities
  • A platform for members to collaborate within a peer to peer support network through both a physical and online community

Industry members benefit from access to facilities and specialist knowledge available at both universities through the development of flexible partnerships with expert academics.

Academics benefit from access to industry-led challenges and funding streams. By building on the relationships made, academics have the opportunity to translate their research into regional businesses.

Previous events have covered a variety of topics such as: Exploring what’s Possible through Collaboration, Wellbeing in the Workplace, Learning from Innovations Tackling the Global Food Sustainability Challenge and The Future Vision for the Sheffield City Region.

“I love attending MD Club events, the content is always thought provoking and it’s great networking between academia and business.”
